Remove repeated words in Premiere Pro (French audio)
You trip on a word and say it again: Oncut finds those repeats in the transcript, cuts the first ones and keeps the last, while it cuts the dead air. French audio only for now.
Which repeats does Oncut cut?
A word, or a group of two words, said again straight after, less than 1.5 s apart. Oncut cuts from the start of the first one to the start of the last one, so the last one stays: usually the cleanest.
Intended repeats stay: when it is a single doubled word, such as “très très” or “oui oui”, Oncut leaves it alone. When Oncut cannot find a clear dip in the audio to place the cut, it does not cut: the repeat stays marked “to review” in the panel, and you decide.
Why French audio only?
Repeats live in the text: you need a reliable, word-by-word transcript with timings. Oncut transcribes with a model that runs on your computer, tuned for French. Because it all runs locally, nothing leaves your machine.
What does Oncut not do with repeats?
Oncut does not choose between two full takes of the same sentence: picking the best one is still your call as the editor. It does not touch your edit either: everything happens in the new “— Oncut” sequence, and the original stays untouched.
In Premiere Pro, Text-Based Editing lets you delete a word by hand in the transcript, and its filters find pauses. It does not flag repeated words: Oncut finds them for you, along with the silences.

Is repeat removal included in the subscription?
Yes. Silences and repeats are in the same subscription, with no tiers or add-ons: €9.90 a month or €79 a year, VAT included.
