An offline silence remover that runs on your computer

Oncut analyses your footage where it already is: on your own computer, Mac or PC. Transcription, silence and repeat detection and the cut list are all computed locally. No audio and no video is ever sent to a server.

How it works

Illustration: on top, an invented clip with its dead air (red) and repeats (amber); below, the sequence Oncut creates, tightened, with a 2-frame audio fade on every cut.

What runs on my machine?

All the work on your footage. Oncut extracts the audio, transcribes it with an engine installed on your computer, then computes the cuts. The panel in Premiere Pro talks to Oncut on your computer through a local address: nothing leaves the machine.

Who needs it?

Editors with NDA footage, interviews that are not out yet, brands that will not let their images go through the cloud. And editors on the move: on a train, in a control room or on a shoot with no signal, the analysis runs the same.

So what is the internet for?

Downloading the Oncut installer, once it is out. Never for moving your footage. Everything else, cutting dead air as well as cutting repeats, happens on your computer. Speech in French for now.

Frequently asked questions

Is my footage sent anywhere?

No. The analysis runs on your machine: your footage never leaves your computer, with no upload and no server. Oncut works offline.

Can I analyse footage with no connection?

Yes: transcription and the cut list are computed on your computer. You only need a connection to download the installer, not to analyse.

Where are my files kept?

Where they already are. Oncut reads the audio of your footage from your disk and only adds a new sequence to your Premiere Pro project.
